ABSTRACT
Indigenous language in Central Kalimantan is called
Dayak Language. From 37 indigenous languages in Central
Kalimantan, there are only three languages that have been
classified as standard language. And only one indigenous
language has standard qualification. It shows that almost
indigenous languages are only used as communication tool
in limited area that is within the race.
This situation has resulted in four language situation
trends in Central Kalimantan. First, Language Group 1 and
Group 2 are to be the first choice for the language users.
Second, in the city/urban area, the trend language Group 1
and Group 2 are going to decrease. Third, the change of
social structure and population density cause language
group 1 and group 2 tends to be extinct. Fourth, the natural
selection will configure which language that can stand or
